The Holiday Region Mayrhofen
The Zillertal offers enough variety for everybody in summer as well as in winter - regardless of whether you are looking for quiet and relaxation or rather a bit of action ...
Its ideal location makes Mayrhofen the starting point for numerous hiking tours in the Zillertal Alps. In addition, the countless bicycle and mountain bike trails provide variety for cyclists. In Mayrhofen you will find rustic farms and traditional crafts in the company of many cafés and boutiques. Family-friendly activities, sport opportunities, various entertainment programs, and culinary richness - despite this variety, the village has kept its traditional look. With its 3,600 inhabitants it is the largest municipality of the valley.
Among the summer activities are hiking, nording walking, mountaineering, biking in the mountans and in the valley, water sports like swimming in the many outdoor pools and natural lakes, rafting, canyoning, etc.
In the summer months when the white slopes become lush green alpine pastures, an extensive paradise for walkers, bikers, and climbers unfolds in the Mayrhofen Holiday Region in the Ziller valley.
Long before tourism arrived in the Ziller valley, alpinists had genuine "peak" experiences here. The Zillertal Alps National Park, an "area of tranquillity" on the Ziller valley high ridge (1,000 - 3,509 m altitude) encompassing 372 km2, is full of lasting impressions - with almost 80 glaciers, three large reservoirs, as well as several mountain and corrie lakes, the landscape extends over all altitudes of the inner Alps.
The ski resort of Mayrhofen with its Ahorn and Penken ski slopes is a superlative holiday destination. Demanding, varied, multifaceted and entertaining. We provide perfect winter enjoyment for like-minded people. Unspoilt nature, the excellent infrastructure and great variety have made our ski resort one of the best ski resorts in the Alps.
You can enjoy winter fun in all its varieties in Mayrhofen and Hippach. One ticket - the Mayrhofen Ski Pass - grants you access to 159 km of slopes of every ability level, 51 lifts, with guaranteed snow cover through artificial snowmaking, and Austria's largest ropeway.
